Music and love has always been a synonymous experience for me. Within the first few chords of a song, I am instantly teleported back to a dreamy memory, whether it’s one of slow dancing in the kitchen with Kevin, or driving down the highway with my best friend, screaming the lyrics to our favorite old songs. No matter the memory, music has always taken me back to a frozen moment with someone I love, reminding me why I’ve cared so deeply for them all this time.

I remember when Kevin and I were just friends, and I’d make him these mix tapes of some of my favorite songs, making sure to pack in the ones that meant the most to me. We’d listen to them every time we were in the car together, laughing and (badly) singing along. I didn’t know it then, but I was turning those songs I’d once loved on my own into memories I’ll share with Kevin forever, developing the melodies like film into beautiful snap shots of our early days together.

From the first time I met them, Christine and Joe’s bond reminded me of a sweet and soft love song, one that you never tire of playing. The gorgeous way they laughed and joked with each other was so incredible, and I knew instantly that they shared a very special connection. When Christine delivered Joe an original song she wrote and performed on a little iPod in a wooden box the morning of their wedding, I knew that that connection was stronger than I could ever imagine. Such a small gift brought a tear to Joe’s eye, and it truly felt like I was witnessing the start of their future together, hidden in the chords of a beautiful love song. The incredibly thoughtful gift was so, so special, and it’s one I’ll always keep close to my heart.

Being there to witness the union of Christine and Joe has brought me SO much joy, and has reminded me that every love, much like a song, is special and unique.
