Hilary + Tariq | Calverton, NY

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is that I get to see who the two of you are together without the intense pressure of a wedding day. Whether it’s a shared interest you both have, or how silly in love you can be, I discover so many gems about your relationship that help me get to know you a little better! I always like to think of myself as an open book, so having the ability to connect with people from all over Long Island (and beyond!) has truly expanded my horizons. I guess you could say that getting to photograph people for a living definitely has its perks!

Like I’ve said before, engagement sessions are the most amazing way to get to know me and my style of shooting. I’m always open to new locations (and seriously LOVE getting to visit new spaces I haven’t been to yet), but if you’re ever unsure about the best spot for your shoot, ask me! I have tons of unique recommendations, and a whole rolodex of places that will fit you and your relationship perfectly.

Hilary + Tariq approached me with the idea of doing a Wes Anderson themed engagement, and I was absolutely on board! I LOVE themed engagements – not only because it allows me to step outside the box and think creatively, but because it shows me another side to my incredible couples! Since Wes Anderson is known for bright colors, a quirky attention to detail, and deliberate use of symmetry, I knew instantly that the different backgrounds at Peconic Herb Farm would work so perfectly. With their gorgeous glass greenhouses and interesting color combinations (plus all the adorable knick knacks that cover the grounds!), this sweet couple’s Moonrise Kingdom vibe was the cutest thing ever!

Take a peek at this beautiful themed engagement that is sure to make you crave a Wes Anderson marathon with your sweetheart!
