Krystal + Rob | Destination Wedding at Majestic Resorts, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

A snowy engagement shoot followed by a sunshine-filled wedding day – how amazing is that?

Krystal + Rob’s Punta Cana destination wedding was unreal. The most beautiful resort, the best couple, and getting to work with some of my favorite wedding industry pals – it couldn’t have been better.

I love shooting destination weddings – and not just because I get to travel to amazing places! The light is so different than in New York, so I get to capture a whole new feel to my photos. I love getting to explore new little spots for portraits and detail shots, and since it’s a vacation for the guests as well,  everyone is in a party mood.

Something I especially loved about this sweet couple was we did their engagement shoot in the snow at Prosser Pines, so it was really cool to go from a snowy forest to a sandy beach!

For Krystal + Rob’s wedding, I got to work with my studio mates and some of my all-around favorite wedding teams, Bilski Productions.

I can’t tell you how fun this weekend was. Krystal + Rob are the nicest people ever, and made everyone feel so welcome as they arrived for the big day. Looking at these photos, you’d never guess that we were battling tropical rain storms all day! We snagged as many photos outside as possible, and we got so lucky that the weather was perfect for all the important outdoor moments of the day!

Seriously – check out the crystal clear turquoise ocean that was the backdrop for the ceremony. I loved their beautiful beachfront vows – they were so filled with emotion and love. Rob couldn’t hold it in when he saw Krystal walking down the aisle towards him and of course, everyone else started tearing up.

We finished the seaside portraits and got inside for the reception just in case any rain began to fall again. Krystal + Rob hired this amazing fire dancers – they were SO fun to shoot!

This wedding was so incredible, and I especially loved getting to spend a few extra days enjoying the island! If you’re thinking of a destination wedding, I definitely recommend it – it’s such a fun, laid-back experience for everyone.
