Tia + Mike | Jamesport, NY

There is something so understated about an intimate wedding that takes place with only your closest friends and family. Every second feels more profound, every instant more timeless, and every kiss that much sweeter. It allows you to really sit back and revel in the amazing journey you’re about to embark on, and leaves you with memories you’ll always cherish!

As a wedding photographer, I am often asked if I shoot smaller weddings – and the answer is always yes! I love being part of your day, no matter how big or small! There are gorgeous elements to every I Do, and whether you’re expecting 400 people or 40, I’m always prepared, always excited, and always ready to capture the most special moment of your life to date!

Tia + Mike’s love story instantly captivated me from the first time I heard it. After meeting and realizing they had a lot in common, Mike was gearing up to move down to Florida to continue an internship in film. Since life is full of surprises, and sometimes the most terrifying decisions turn out to be the most beautiful, Tia chose to embark on a new adventure and joined Mike in Florida just three months into dating! I absolutely adore how fearless these two were, and are, in love, and every moment I spent with them reminded me that sometimes, you have to do scary things to find out what your destiny is!

Tia + Mike’s classic I Do’s at Jedediah Hawkins Inn in Jamesport was the perfect start to June, with bright bursts of timeless florals, a Lillian West gown that absolutely stunned, and streams of gorgeous light cascading through the trees. Although rain was in the forecast, it luckily held off until after the ceremony! Then, in true New York spring fashion, it down-poured while Tia + Mike hid under the beautiful architecture of Jed’s. The way these two laughed under that trusty clear umbrella of mine was so adorable, and produced some of my favorite wedding portraits ever!

I was so in love with the tree that Tia + Mike incorporated into their ceremony, and the metaphor was so powerful! It reminds me of the quote, “Bloom where you’re planted“, which essentially means that you should grow no matter where you are, no matter what happens, and no matter how difficult things get. Such a perfect representation of a timeless marriage and how challenging, yet so rewarding, it is! Plus, Tia + Mike will plant that beautiful, jewel-toned tree on the property of their new house, and will get a chance to watch it grow alongside them. I just love it!

Congratulations to this sweet couple! Thank you so much for sharing your day with me, and I can’t wait to see what fearless adventure you two go on next!
