Engagement shoots are so important to the wedding planning process. They allow me to get to know my couples, and to get them comfortable with being in front of the camera. They help you set the tone of your wedding – many couples use their engagement photos on their save-the-dates. They’re also really useful because engagement shoots, unlike weddings, can easily be rescheduled if the weather isn’t perfect.
For Ashleigh + Kevin, the weather was NOT cooperating all throughout the fall. Every time we’d reschedule their shoot, it ended up raining. We all decided to wait till the spring, and I’m so glad we did – the light and sunshine on the day of this photoshoot at
Peconic Herb Farm in Calverton couldn’t have been more perfect!
I love shooting at the Herb Farm – there are a ton of different locations that make for great backdrops. For Ashleigh & Kevin, we took full advantage of the greenhouse and the rustic feel of the barn. They could seriously give lessons on how to dress for an engagement shoot – their outfits were perfectly coordinated without being too “matchy.”
Ashleigh and Kevin are such a sweet couple, and I wish them all the best in their beautiful future together!
