Angela and Tyler’s shoot was super special to me for a number of reasons. First of all, the golden hour light was perfection on the day of our shoot – I couldn’t get enough! The Peconic Herb Farm in Calverton was an awesome location, especially in the fall – there was a ton of foliage on the ground that made for a perfect backdrop for the slowly setting sun. The farm also has a zillion great little spots to shoot, from a greenhouse to a romantic footbridge to a rustic wooden arbor. It was just as gorgeous in the autumn as it would be in the spring or summer, and I took advantage of every inch of the property!
But the main reason why this shoot was so special was because of the people in it. This was a dual engagement shoot/family session for Angela and Tyler, and it was amazing to get to shoot this beautiful family in anticipation for their wedding. I’ve had the privilege of doing family photos of them since their little boy Bentley was a baby, and now I get to be there for the day they get married! The best part of my job is getting to see my couples grow their families, and being able to document these special moments for them.
In the other shoots I’ve done for Angela and Tyler, we got photos of the whole family with the kids. This time, I definitely got a bunch of images of their two cuties, but I also had the chance to shoot the two of them alone, which was really special. It’s been so cool to see this beautiful family grow over the years, and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding day in a few short months!
I’ve been photographing Bentley since he was a baby!
At family shoots, I love to get these playful shots – it shows their fun, loving family dynamic
A sweet moment for these two! I can’t wait for the wedding!
