As a wedding + lifestyle photographer, I am constantly floored by the love my couples share. The treasures they hold and the future ahead of them always feels so incredibly endless, and even though I’ve spent the better part of the last week trying to find the right words to describe the gorgeous love of Heather + Nick, I find myself at a loss. How do you find the perfect words to harness the dreamy, one-of-a-kind connection that two people who have been through it all share together? How could I possibly describe the incredibly strong energy that spreads like wildfire every time they’re together? It seems impossible to get it all out.

After shooting Heather + Nick’s cozy, at-home engagement session, I knew there was something special about them. Nick’s entry into Army basic training renewed a spark between them that had existed since college, and upon his return from his deployment overseas, Nick proposed over a romantic dinner in Mexico – and it’s obvious why. Every time I would look through my lens, it was like I was watching magic in slow motion. Each kiss, each stolen glance, Heather + Nick melted into each. They found ways to make each other laugh at just the right moment, and seemed to read each other’s minds every time they had something to say.

Heather + Nick’s wedding was no different, and truly was a tropical paradise. With the ocean views and sprawling palm trees that cascaded down the sand at The Crescent Beach Club, it felt like we were miles away from the Long Island shores, and instead in our own private oasis. The same energy that existed during their engagement session exploded through them on their wedding day, and it was simple to capture the most stunning moments between them. With three dresses, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony punctuated with lion dancers, a salsa dance, and a golden hour session that yielded some of the most jaw-dropping images I’ve ever had the pleasure of capturing, Heather + Nick’s wedding day was one of my favorite to date.
