Spring is full of vibrant elements. The blooming trees, the chill in the air, and the way we seem to renew from who we were in wintertime! Engagement sessions really are just like spring: they are the rebirth of who you are, who you will be, and how you’ll change in the coming years, and having priceless photos to remember this shift is so, so important! You’ll look back, many years from now and know that, at this time in your life, you were just beginning.  As a photographer, seeing you at your happiest makes me heart burst, and in those moments, I know that this is what I’m meant to do for the rest of my life.

The gorgeous – I mean, seriously, gorgeous – engagement of Julia + Daren could not have been more perfect! Although rain threatened their session for a full week (and had me a little worried!), the stars aligned to give us the softest, most beautiful light I’ve seen this year. The photos of them under the tree with light jut pouring in is one of my all time favorite images to date! Plus, Avalon Park in Stonybrook has this ethereal quality to it that makes you feel like you’re not on Long Island anymore, and it made me fall heart-over-heels for the lush trees and winding trails all over again!

I had the pleasure of capturing Julia’s brother’s wedding in April of 2015, so it was such an honor to be able to photograph Julia + Daren at this super exciting time in their lives! They were both so playful and excited to be in front of the camera, and each and every one of their photographs shows how perfect they are for each other. The natural posing and that STUNNING ring definitely helped, too! And the way Daren looked at Julia with such bliss gave me such a creative burst, almost reminding me of the way the landscape transforms from winter to spring when its kissed by the soft, April sun rays. Can you tell I absolutely adored this engagement or what!?
