I love springtime on Long Island. The sunny forsythia begins to bloom, and the golden afternoon light lasts longer each day. The long New York winter is over, and it’s finally warm enough to enjoy sunset on the beach.
When Kristen + Danny asked me to do their engagement session at Horton Lighthouse in Southold, I was so excited. We started on the grounds of the lighthouse, with the sunlight peeking through the forsythia. We made it to the beach just in time for sunset. I was giddy when I saw the final images!
Kristen + Danny are the sweetest couple, and I’m officially in love with their dog Donald. They got engaged right near where we shot this session, when hunting for beach glass and strolling with Donald, so we incorporated that into our shoot.
This session is a perfect example of how you can incorporate an outfit change for a whole different vibe. Both Kristen + Danny changed their outfits when we moved from the lighthouse to the beach, and it was like having two shoots in one!
I loved spending the afternoon with these two, and I can’t wait for their wedding at Giorgio’s next January!
