A summer engagement on Long Island always makes for some of the most breathtaking sessions ever. The cotton candy skies and soft summer sunset are always filled with such wonder, and I find myself getting lost in my surroundings. This is one of the main reasons I always opt for an outdoor summer engagement when I can – the natural beauty surrounding the deep, incredible love that courses between you two adds the most magical elements to your photos, and continues to push me to create so much more than you could ever know!

Taylor + John were one of the most laid back and in love couples I’ve ever had the honor or photographing, and getting a chance to spend some time with them this past summer at Frank Melville and West Meadow Beach was so amazing! I loved the way they looked at each other with such love in their eyes. It’s incredible to learn your history and see the way you two love each other – it’s such an inspiring part of my job as a wedding photographer, and I genuinely care so much about every couple that steps in front of my lens!

I was so in love with Taylor’s choice to alternate between a casual summer sundress and a fitted, cherry red dress for her + John’s summer engagement, because it added such a beautiful pop of color against the lush greenery of West Meadow Beach. It was so perfect! I was also beyond obsessed with the location they chose, because it gave us plenty of options for photos and had the most gorgeous summer light. Maybe I’m biased, but my couples always stun against the backdrop of lush greens.
