As a wedding photographer, iffy weather definitely can throw us for some loops. While rain on your wedding day or engagement shoot isn’t the worst thing that can happen – I’ll still capture GORGEOUS shots, and you’re still marrying your soulmate, after all – I definitely understand that it can be nerve-racking if rain is in the forecast. I always carry my trusty clear umbrella in my Jeep at all times!
For Carolyn + Kevin’s engagement shoot, we got super lucky. It was supposed to rain, but we ended up with perfect weather and the most gorgeous golden hour light. This was a good metaphor for Carolyn + Kevin’s relationship: they met due to an awful tragedy after a close mutual friend passed away. They became closer, started dating, and now they’re planning a beautiful wedding!
Kevin is a wine connoisseur, so it made sense that their engagement shoot was at a vineyard. I actually love shooting at vineyards – even in the off season, they make for stunning backdrops. If a vineyard wedding is out of your budget, a great compromise is to do a vineyard engagement shoot.
I love working with this beautiful couple, and their big Italian wedding at Giorgio’s later this year is going to be so much fun!
